Ryan and Katie’s Unique Downtown Wedding at Boise Train Depot

Ryan and Katie booked me over a year ago for their Unique Downtown Wedding at Boise Train Depot.  The couple currently live in the Bay Area but Katie is local to the Boise area.  I have been looking forward to this wedding for a while now.  The Train Depot is always a lovely spot to shoot.  The tall tower that overlooks the city is unmatched.  The beautiful Platt garden is a perfect spot for photos.  

A unique day for a wonderful couple

Katie and Ryan’s wedding day had fun unique elements to their day.  The whole wedding party got ready together.  This is a first for me and actually I loved it.  They were all really close and had a non-stressful getting ready.  There was food and drinks and lots of laughter. I started with just a couple of detail photos then jumped right into couples portraits for the day. The couple got ready together so there was no first look.  It was hot so the whole goal of the day was to be quick and efficient.  It was already in the 90s when we started these photos. After couples photos were done we went straight into bridal party and family formals.  Doing all of these photos beforehand allowed the couple to take a pause after the ceremony and then join their guests for cocktail hour.  

The Ceremony and Reception

The ceremony took place under a grove of trees nestled in the heart of Platt Gardens.  It was performed by their good friend and was very personal towards the couple.  Once the ceremony was complete the reception began! Dinner was amazing and the toasts were full of emotions and laughs.  The first dances were sweet and the reception was a party with lots of dancing and laughter! We snuck away at sunset for a few photos. This couple preferred to face the camera for their portraits so they were always looking at me. It was a wonderful night full of all sorts of fun and amazing people! Congratulations to the happy couple! Your Unique Downtown Wedding at Boise Train Depot was wonderful.
