Boise Train Depot Wedding

Joshua and Narcy’s wedding on May 4th at the Boise Train Depot was absolutely gorgeous. This is my first adventure shooting at the Boise Train Depot. It’s beautiful on the inside with high high ceilings and has that rustic train depot feeling to it with beautiful woodwork all throughout. The cool thing when you have a wedding there is that you get to ride to the top of the bell tower all night long.

Joshua really worked on planning all of the details with Narcy and they all came together so nicely. Their colors stemmed from earthy tones such as mauve, forest green and pale pinks. The Bridal bouquet was made of beautiful succulents, it was one of the most unique looking bouquet I have ever seen. The bridesmaids bouquets were also made of succulents and it turns out that a succulent bouquet is actually pretty heavy. The cool thing is that she could probably keep that bouquet and plant the succulents to have a reminder of her day for years to come. There’s centerpieces we’re beautiful incorporating small and large succulents with candle that were set in wood box that tired in with the depot decor very well.

Details Matter and Everything turned out Great!

The wedding had a wide variety of different cultures and people traveled from all over the world to attend these two’s special day. It was fun to see all the different cultures in one place. The traditional Korean outfits that some of the woman were wearing were absolutely beautiful. They are called Hanbok. I hear they are uncomfortable, so props to them for staying in them so long. They were sure colorful and so pretty! I wish I had an excuse to wear one!!

The couple chose not to see each other beforehand.  The first time they saw each other was as Narcy walked down the aisle. It was such a special time that was full of so much emotion, and it was beautiful. Downtown Boise was the backdrop of their ceremony and was beautiful. Once the ceremony was complete the newly married couple headed inside to greet their guests as they walked in for cocktail hour.  Quick bridal party photos and a short family formals took place before dinner and toasts.

The Reception Fun

There was some excitement during cake cutting! I honestly thought they would be nice! I was super surprised actually. They started off nice and then BAM! No joke it was one of the best cake fights ever! I am not sure anyone was expecting it. The cake topper brought a little bit of the force into play. Being they did get married on May 4th.  It too had beautiful succulents that accented the cake.

The first dance was beautiful and took place on one of the neatest dance floors I have ever seen. VCI Entertainment was the DJ and they have a few different floors to choose from which add so much to the reception space. Josh and Narcy danced on an LED light up dance floor! So many different colors it was super fun and made for some cool effects.

The couple did the anniversary dance.  If you haven’t heard of this dance it is where all the married couples come on the dance floor to share a dance and the longest couple to remain is the longest married couple. They often times give some advice to the newly married couple. Joshua’s grandparents took the award for being married the longest at 71 YEARS. Yes you heard that right 71 years! Simply amazing and is actually the longest married couple I have ever had the pleasure of photographing.

Sunset did not dissapoint

I was able to steal the couple away for a few minutes! They are doing a separate bridal session in June so we did not do very many bridal portraits but I did sneak a couple in and I am so glad I did. The bell tower was calling them away up to take just a couple quick photos right before sunset.  Even if you are doing bridals at a later day I still think you should have a couple portraits of you and your groom on your wedding day. Looking back I wish I would have taken the time to get a few more of just me and TJ.

I had a wonderful time capturing this couple’s wedding. The wedding was special in so many ways.  The different cultures were such a joy! The Boise Train Depot is a gorgeous venue to shoot at. Everything aligned perfectly for this couple and their special day. The wedding and the couple was beautiful inside and out and it was my honor to meet them! I am so thankful they allowed me to share in their joy! Congratulations Joshua and Narcy! I wish you nothing but happiness and long lasting joy!
