Bear Creek Lodge Wedding

Bear Creek Lodge Wedding

Bear Creek Lodge is located in beautiful McCall, Idaho. The Bear Creek Lodge Wedding was a dream wedding for Megan and Nate. The setting was absolutely stunning. High in the forest this wedding was rustic with chic elements brought in by different details throughout the day. Surrounded by green and rustic forest and hints of wild flowers throughout, the property made this a dream location to say “I Do” after 18 months of planning.

The Back Story

Nate and Megan met through a mutual friend. Megan was all dressed up and her plans had fallen through so she joined her friend Blas who was headed out with her friend Nate. They spent the night talking. Megan said “I had no idea that Nate would be there, but when we sat next to each other we couldn’t stop talking, which isn’t normal for either of us. We started dating about 3 weeks later in November of 2017. I knew that I wanted to marry Nate pretty much from the beginning, but he says that he knew in December of 2019 when we survived a kitchen remodel together.” Their first date was a 9 mile hike shortly followed by so much adventure over the years.

This wedding was so much fun. Megan and Nate’s engagement session in Parma can found HERE. I knew the wedding would be full of laughs as the couple is surrounded by their closest friends and family.

The Wedding Day

Bear Creek Lodge did not disappoint. I arrived at a fully set up ceremony and reception area. The details were planned out and created with so much thought. Right down to the monogrammed napkins and personal touches throughout the whole space. There were doors leading to the ceremony space were designed and built by the groom’s family.  Wildflower flowers lined aisle and floral accents on the unique arch really helped bring Megan’s vision to life.

First look

Megan and Nate’s first look was so special. The backdrop was beautiful and the couple shared a very special moment together. First looks are one of my favorite things to photograph. They are so special and the reactions are priceless. The couple shared their vows to one another and there was a lot of laughing and hugging. Bridal party photos were next.  Dresses that were worn by the bridesmaids were so unique. I have never seen anything quite like them. Almost like they were straight outta Kate Spade’s closet. I loved them and each one of them were different with the same floral element to them.

The Ceremony And Reception

The couple was married by their friend Blas, the same person who introduced them. She jokingly said after their first date that she would officiate the wedding. Years later she did just that. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception. The reception was catered by Horsewood Catering. Megan’s family owns a cattle ranch and provided the meat. I can honestly say it was the best beef I have ever had. The way to my heart is good meat and beautiful details. Maybe not in that order but I will never tell.

They shared wonderful toasts that were full of stories and advice. The couple danced the night away after I took them for magical golden hour photos that did not disappoint. This whole day was absolutely beautiful from start to finish. I was so glad to be a part of Megan and Nate’s day. Thank you for making me feel like a part of the family. Wishing you so much adventure and happiness. Cheers to the newlywed couple!
